Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongshan Hospital") was founded in 1937 and named in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of China's democratic revolution. It is one of the earliest large-scale comprehensive hospitals established and managed by Chinese people. The hospital is a budget management unit of the National Health Commission, a construction unit of the National Medical Center project under the National Development and Reform Commission, and a pilot unit for high-quality development of public hospitals under the National Health Commission. On December 18, 2023, the comprehensive National Medical Center construction project of Zhongshan Hospital officially commenced, including two basic construction projects: the Shanghai International Medical Science and Innovation Center Project and the first phase of the Qingpu New City Campus Project, which will be put into use during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. The hospital has built a strong talent team. Since its establishment, it has produced 4 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It currently has over 400 provincial-level and above talent program recipients, nearly 400 doctoral and master's supervisors, and over 6,400 registered employees, including more than 870 with senior professional titles. The hospital has achieved fruitful scientific research innovations. Over the past decade, it has undertaken more than 1,500 national-level projects, including National Science and Technology Major Projects, Key R&D Programs, and National Natural Science Foundation projects, published over 9,500 SCI papers, with 15 high-quality research results appearing in top international journals such as Cell, Nature, Science, Lancet, JAMA, and BMJ. Since 2022, the hospital has filed over 3,300 patent applications, obtained nearly 1,800 patents, and facilitated over 440 technology transfers. The journals sponsored by the hospital, including *Health Promotion*, *Chinese Journal of Clinical Medicine*, and the English-language journals *Cardiology Plus* and *Clinical Cancer Bulletin*, have been selected as high-starting-point new journals under the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan. The hospital's electronic medical record-related large model application has been selected as a demonstration scenario for the Shanghai Generative AI Innovation Ecosystem Pilot Zone. The hospital's AI governance plan won the first prize for outstanding topics in the 2022 Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission's Intelligent Social Governance Experiment.
