The Department of Allergy (Immunology) is a newly established clinical department at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, founded in 2023. The department focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory allergic diseases (such as asthma, allergic cough, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), eosinophil-associated lung diseases, etc.), while also addressing allergic diseases across various systems, including allergic rhinitis, allergic dermatitis, food allergies, drug allergies, severe allergic reactions, and the management of adverse reactions related to tumor drug therapy. Currently, the department offers general outpatient services, specialized disease clinics, expert clinics, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) clinics for allergies. In addition to conventional diagnostic and treatment methods, the department conducts in vivo and in vitro allergen testing, biologic targeted therapy, and specific immunotherapy (desensitization therapy). The department members have extensive experience in the standardized diagnosis, treatment, and management of asthma and have participated in multiple international and domestic multicenter clinical trials for asthma medications. Professor Jin Meiling serves as the department director and academic leader. She also holds positions as Vice President of the Allergy Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Vice Chair of the Respiratory Disease Branch of the China Rare Disease Alliance, Vice President of the Allergy Branch of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association, Vice President of the Integrated Medicine Branch of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association, and Deputy Leader of the Asthma Group of the Respiratory Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association. She has led numerous national and provincial-level research projects and has contributed to the development of clinical guidelines and expert consensus on diseases such as asthma, ABPA, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), and lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Under the leadership of Professor Jin Meiling, the department is committed to a "disease-centered diagnosis and treatment model," providing clinical care for allergic diseases across various systems and offering one-stop precision diagnosis and comprehensive management for allergy patients.
