In early 2007, he led the team from Peking University Cancer Hospital in performing the world's first hepatic artery indwelling catheter chemotherapy for colorectal cancer liver metastases. After more than a decade of exploration, he has developed a unique theory of "low-dose, short-interval targeted intravascular regional chemotherapy" for treating liver metastases, and is the founder of this technique. This technique has achieved significant therapeutic effects and has been widely recognized by the domestic academic community. It is expected to become the standard procedure for unresectable liver metastases and has been extensively applied in liver cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer, and other tumors. It was awarded the Second Prize of the 2019 Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award (K-1902-2-10, fourth completer). In 2012, as the project leader, he undertook the sub-project of the National Twelfth Five-Year Major Special Project—a clinical study on Licartin combined with TACE for preventing liver cancer recurrence, with a funding of 2.5 million RMB. This study demonstrated that Licartin can reduce the recurrence of primary liver cancer, with a 24.1% reduction in the one-year recurrence rate and a 19.7% reduction in the two-year recurrence rate, showing excellent anti-recurrence effects and reaching an internationally advanced level.
