Graduated from the Department of Medicine at Beijing Medical University in 1986. In the same year, he was admitted to the Department of Urology at Peking University First Hospital and the Institute of Urology, Peking University, as a combined Master's and Doctoral student. In 1990, he went to the University of Edinburgh in the UK as a joint doctoral student, conducting research on prostate cancer, and published two articles in *Prostate* and *British Journal of Cancer*. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Beijing Medical University in 1992. From 2004 to 2012, he served as Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Department Director at the Department of Urology, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University. In August 2012, he was transferred to Peking University Cancer Hospital as Department Director, Chief Physician, and Professor. He previously served as a member of the International Consultation on Incontinence, Vice Chair of the Urodynamics Group of the Chinese Urological Association, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of *Wu Jieping's Urology*, Editor-in-Chief of *Urinary Incontinence*, Chief Translator of *Female Urology, Urogynecology, and Voiding Dysfunction*, Deputy Chief Translator of *Campbell-Walsh Urology*, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the *Chinese Journal of Urology*. He has published nearly 39 related papers in core journals and 12 SCI papers. He has received one grant from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, one from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, one from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Director's Fund, and one NSFC General Project.
