After graduating with a medical doctorate in oncology from Beijing Medical University in 1993, he remained at the same institution to work in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery. In 1998, he completed his postdoctoral work in medicine in the United Kingdom and returned to continue his work in head and neck surgery at the same hospital. He has visited world-renowned cancer centers, including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the United States, for clinical and academic exchanges, maintaining close collaborative relationships. He has successively held positions as Resident Physician, Attending Physician, Associate Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Chief Physician, and Professor. He concurrently serves as a Standing Committee Member of the Minimally Invasive Therapy Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, a Standing Committee Member of the Cell Therapy Quality Control and Research Committee of the China Pharmaceutical Quality Management Association, Vice Chairman of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, a Member of the Head and Neck Oncology Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, a Member of the Thyroid Cancer Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer for journals such as the Chinese Journal of Head and Neck Otolaryngology, Chinese Journal of Clinical Physicians, Chinese Journal of Otolaryngology, and international journals like The Laryngoscope, a Reviewer for the Beijing Natural Science Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a Member of the Beijing Medical Malpractice Appraisal Committee. He has frequently served as a conference chair and delivered presentations at domestic and international academic conferences. He was a key contributor to the national "85" and "863" key research project "Radioimmunoguided Surgery for Tumors," which won the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award in 1994. Through years of clinical work in head and neck surgery, he has explored and developed the large single-wall curved incision and multifunctional preservation technique for cervical lymph node dissection in head and neck cancers, achieving clinical outcomes of thorough intraoperative clearance, good functional preservation, concealed postoperative incisions with aesthetic benefits, and significantly improved quality of life. For over 10,000 cases of thyroid tumor patients, he has employed minimally invasive and precise surgical techniques, innovating a minimally invasive low-neck small curved incision. This approach not only ensures standardized tumor resection and thorough central compartment lymph node dissection with a low, concealed incision but also results in minimal scarring through cosmetic suturing, achieving favorable aesthetic outcomes and earning widespread praise from patients. He has also explored new comprehensive treatment methods for advanced thyroid cancer, achieving positive results. Additionally, he is dedicated to the comprehensive treatment and research of other common head and neck tumors, such as salivary gland tumors (parotid and submandibular glands), oral tumors, laryngeal tumors, hypopharyngeal tumors, and maxillary sinus tumors, with favorable clinical outcomes. In research, he has led multiple scientific projects on head and neck tumors and thyroid cancer funded by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Beijing Science and Technology New Star Program. In recent years, he has obtained several national invention and utility model patents. He has published over 60 papers domestically and internationally, including more than 20 SCI-indexed articles in journals such as JBC, PloS One, and J.P., and has contributed over 200 papers to academic conferences. He currently supervises six graduate students, including one doctoral candidate, while also undertaking clinical teaching responsibilities for the national physician training program and graduate students at the same institution.
