The "narrow gastric tube" technique for esophageal reconstruction he promoted has reduced the risks of esophageal surgery and improved patients' postoperative quality of life. He has contributed to advocating for total enteral nutrition throughout the course of esophageal cancer and systemic therapy before esophageal cancer surgery. He has contributed to major international clinical trials that changed the treatment strategy for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
