Specialties: A renowned expert in gastrointestinal surgery in China, with long-term dedication to clinical and translational research on gastrointestinal tumors. He is committed to the use of Da Vinci and laparoscopic minimally invasive techniques for treating digestive tract tumors, possessing extensive clinical experience and exceptional surgical skills. He pioneered laparoscopic minimally invasive radical surgery for gastrointestinal tumors in domestic cancer-specialized hospitals and established the first gastrointestinal tumor minimally invasive center in a Chinese cancer hospital. Currently serves as Director of the Fourth Ward of the Gastrointestinal Tumor Center, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Beijing Anti-Cancer Association, Chair of the Health Policy Research and Hospital Management Branch, Vice Chair of the Colorectal Surgery Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Deputy Head of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Group of the Gastric Cancer Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS). In 2016, he received the "Good Teacher and Beneficial Friend" Award from Peking University Health Science Center, and in 2020, the "Golden Scalpel" Award. He enjoys a special government allowance from the State Council. Professor Su Xiangqian focuses on clinical and basic translational research on gastrointestinal tumors. He has led and participated in multiple domestic and international multicenter randomized controlled clinical studies (ADDICT study, CLASS series, RELARC study, LASRE study, RESOLVE series, LISH study, etc.) on laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery for gastric and colorectal cancer. Research findings have been published in top international medical journals such as *JAMA Surgery*, *JAMA Oncology*, *The Lancet Oncology*, and *Journal of Clinical Oncology*, and have been incorporated into multiple treatment guidelines. He has received continuous funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China for research on the molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal tumorigenesis, identification of molecular markers, and their clinical significance. He currently leads 13 ongoing research projects, including 6 at the national level and 7 at the provincial/ministerial level. In recent years, he has published over 70 papers in domestic and international academic journals, authored 3 academic works, and supervised more than 20 master's and doctoral students.
