Dr. Ji Xin graduated from Peking University Health Science Center in 2010 with an eight-year clinical medicine program, under the mentorship of Professor Ji Jiafu, and obtained a doctoral degree. After graduation, he has been working at Peking University Cancer Hospital. In 2019, he served as a visiting scholar at Stanford University Medical Center in the United States for academic exchange. He is currently a Chief Physician, Associate Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Peking University Cancer Hospital. **Specialties:** Dr. Ji specializes in the research and performance of radical surgeries for gastrointestinal malignancies, including surgical treatment for gastric cancer, esophagogastric junction cancer, colorectal cancer, and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. He is proficient in minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopic and robotic surgery) and perioperative comprehensive therapies (chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, etc.). He is particularly skilled in anti-reflux procedures after gastric cancer and esophagogastric junction cancer resection, function-preserving surgeries for early gastric cancer, and sphincter-preserving surgeries for low rectal cancer. With an average annual outpatient volume exceeding 2,000 visits, Dr. Ji has participated in over 4,000 radical surgeries for gastrointestinal malignancies. He has mastered the techniques of radical gastrointestinal tumor surgery and utilizes modern medical technologies to perform minimally invasive surgeries for malignant tumors, achieving optimal surgical outcomes with minimal trauma. His outstanding clinical performance earned him the First Prize of the Medical Science and Technology Award from the Chinese Medical Association in 2024 and the Nomination Award for the First Outstanding Young Physician of Peking University in 2021. He participated in the hospital's first Da Vinci robotic radical gastrectomy, the department's first laparoscopic radical gastrectomy, and the first laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery. He has also won multiple awards in national surgical competitions, including the Cesar Roux Award in the National Young and Middle-aged Physician Surgery Competition and the First Prize in the National Standardized Laparoscopic Surgery for Gastric Cancer Lecture and Competition. Based on clinical work, Dr. Ji conducts clinical research focusing on key issues in gastric cancer surgery. He is responsible for three research projects, including a scientific research cultivation program from the Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals, a cross-seed fund project from the Peking University Youth Science and Technology Innovation Development Platform, and an open fund project from the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education/Beijing. His research addresses issues such as the extent of gastric resection, lymph node dissection methods, and digestive tract reconstruction options in gastric cancer surgery. The findings have been applied to clinical practice, improving surgical outcomes and achieving a model of research-driven clinical practice and practice-promoted research. His work has been published in professional journals such as *Gut Microbes*, *Gastric Cancer*, *Chinese Journal of Cancer Research*, *Cancer Research and Treatment*, *BMC Cancer*, *Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery*, and *Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery*. He has authored over ten SCI-indexed papers and more than twenty papers in Chinese professional journals. Dr. Ji Xin joined the Communist Party of China in 2001 and has received honors such as "Outstanding Communist Party Member of Peking University" and "Outstanding Party Affairs Worker of Peking University." He participated in a special interview on "Gastric Cancer Treatment Strategies During the COVID-19 Pandemic" hosted by CCTV and Xinhua Net, took part in the poverty alleviation project "Supporting the Dabie Mountain Area" organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and contributed to public health education programs such as the 27th National Cancer Prevention and Treatment Awareness Week and the Beijing "Early Cancer Screening" Expert Science Popularization Project. He also won the Third Prize in the Health Science Popularization Competition, contributing to the early diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer and public health services.
