Primarily engaged in clinical, teaching, and research work in pediatric traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with a clinical focus on highlighting TCM characteristics. Has extensive experience in treating conditions such as anorexia, infantile malnutrition, overweight, gastritis, constipation, recurrent respiratory infections, asthma, myocarditis, hematuria, epilepsy, and leukemia using TCM. For infants (as young as 8 months old) with gallstones or adenoid hypertrophy, oral TCM treatment can spare children from surgical procedures. Post-surgery, TCM regulation aids in recovery of physical strength and appetite, with significant therapeutic effects. Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric nutritional diseases, spleen and stomach disorders, and difficult miscellaneous diseases using TCM.
Currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Pediatric School Inheritance and Innovation Community of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, Vice President of the Comprehensive Pediatrics Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of Chinese Medicine Research, Vice Chairman of the TCM Pediatrician Community of the China Association for the Promotion of Chinese Medicine Research, Advisor of the Pediatrics Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, Deputy Director of the Shanghai TCM Pediatrics Society, and Academic Leader of the Shanghai TCM Specialty for Childhood Anorexia. Recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award for Pediatric Development from the China Association of Chinese Medicine, former Vice Chairman of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Pediatrics Branches of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and first-term Vice President of the Pediatrics Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. Expert evaluator for the National Major Basic Research Program (973 Program), and project review expert for the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Health Commission, Ministry of Education, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, National Medical Products Administration, Science and Technology Award of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. Editorial board member of the *Journal of Pediatrics in Traditional Chinese Medicine*. Has led and completed 16 national and provincial-level projects (including 3 from the National Natural Science Foundation of China). As project leader and academic discipline leader, received joint support from three national ministries in 2018 for a major national project. As the first completer, won the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award from the China Association of Chinese Medicine. Since 2010, has taught the general education core course "Traditional Medicine and Human Health" at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's main campus for non-medical students, which has been well-received. Has been invited multiple times to share TCM clinical application experience on radio and television. Published over 60 papers and 15 books, and trained nearly 20 doctoral and master's students.
Main Research Direction: "The spleen and stomach are the foundation of acquired constitution and the source of qi and blood production," "A healthy spleen and stomach lead to a healthy body," and "A healthy spleen and stomach lead to intelligence." The functional activities of the body's organs and the physical and intellectual development of children rely on the normal function of the spleen and stomach. Focuses on the application of regulating the spleen and stomach in children's growth, development, and disease prevention and treatment.
