Li Biru, Chief Physician, Chief Expert of the Intensive Care Unit She is primarily engaged in the monitoring and treatment of pediatric emergencies and critical illnesses across various systems. Annually, she monitors and treats over 600 cases of acute and critical pediatric patients, two-thirds of whom involve conditions such as severe infections during the bone marrow suppression period following chemotherapy for hematologic tumors, acute respiratory distress syndrome, shock, respiratory failure, preoperative complications of complex congenital heart disease in infants, severe neurological diseases, and genetic metabolic disorders. She currently serves as a member of the Primary Pediatric Committee of the 17th Pediatric Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Accident and Disaster Professional Committee of the Pediatric Rescue Branch of the China Medical Rescue Association, a member of the Postgraduate Medical Simulation Education Expert Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and the Deputy Director of the Pediatric Special Committee of the Simulation Medicine Department of the Wu Jieping Medical Foundation. She is also a council member of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Medical Association and a Regional Lead Instructor in China for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) of the American Heart Association (AHA). Overseas training experience: She studied pediatric emergency and intensive care techniques, as well as poisoning prevention and control techniques, at the Emergency Department and Trauma Center (EDTC) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Schneider Children's Medical Center in Israel, and at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Poison Control Center of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the United States. Main research directions: Establishment of early identification and early warning systems for critical illnesses; pediatric emergency triage and assessment systems; epidemiology, prevention, and control of accidental injuries.
