Wang Shunmin, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Physician, Master's Supervisor, Director of the First Ward of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Deputy Director of the Neonatal Complex Congenital Heart Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center at the National Children's Medical Center. With 30 years of frontline experience in congenital heart disease (CHD) surgery, he possesses extensive clinical expertise and demonstrates acute preoperative judgment and emergency response capabilities for surgical contingencies. He is proficient in performing various complex CHD surgeries, including transposition of the great arteries, total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage, double outlet right ventricle, single ventricle, truncus arteriosus, tetralogy of Fallot, pulmonary atresia, coronary artery anomaly correction, aortic coarctation or interruption, and complete atrioventricular canal. Under his leadership, the surgical team maintains stable operative techniques, with a complexity rate exceeding 50% for treated conditions and a success rate of 99.7%, ranking first in cardiothoracic surgery for four consecutive years. Over the past three years, there have been no in-hospital deaths following neonatal CHD surgery. His surgical techniques for CHD complicated by tracheal stenosis have reached internationally advanced and domestically leading levels. He has performed over 400 tracheal slide plasty procedures for congenital tracheal stenosis, with no in-hospital deaths in recent years. He pioneered the hospital's use of axillary mini-incision cardiopulmonary bypass CHD surgery and minimally invasive closure of ventricular septal defects and atrial septal defects, with no adverse surgical complications to date. He serves as a member of the Cardiothoracic Group of the Pediatric Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and a member of the Minimally Invasive Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. International training: He has studied at the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital in the United States and at the Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
