He studied as a visiting scholar for two years at the Research Institute for Chest Diseases, Kyushu University, Japan, and the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco, USA. He currently serves as a Standing Committee Member of the Respiratory Disease Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Leader of the Lung Cancer Study Group, Standing Committee Member of the Respiratory Disease Rehabilitation Committee of the China Medical Education Association, and a member of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO).
