Wang Haifeng, male, born in 1974, is a Chief Physician and Associate Professor in Thoracic Surgery, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital. After graduating with a master's degree from Shanghai Medical University in 1999, he joined the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital. He obtained his doctoral degree from the Second Military Medical University in 2010. In 2006, he received a World Health Organization scholarship to study at Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. In 2013, he was awarded the Graham Fellowship by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, spending a year at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University, focusing on minimally invasive thoracic surgery, tracheal surgery, and lung transplantation. With an annual surgical volume exceeding 1,000 cases, he specializes in single-port minimally invasive surgery for early-stage lung cancer and surgical treatment of chest wall tumors. Sternal resection and reconstruction pose significant challenges in thoracic surgery due to complex surgical design, high complication rates, and susceptibility to infection. Our designed modular sternal prosthesis is a fully independent innovation, granted a national utility model patent, and has been presented to international peers at the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery annual meeting, receiving widespread recognition. This product, through modular assembly, allows flexible combinations, addressing the difficulties of complex fabrication and high surgical failure rates in sternal reconstruction. It has been successfully applied in the resection and reconstruction of primary and secondary sternal tumors. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, Youth Committee Member of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association's Thoracic Surgery Branch, Review Expert for the *Chinese Journal of Experimental Surgery*, and Member of the American Thoracic Society. He has led one project funded by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and has published over ten papers as first author or corresponding author, including five SCI-indexed papers. He has also served as editor-in-chief or associate editor for three academic monographs. He has been invited to speak at over ten international academic conferences, including the annual meetings of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and has trained both domestic and international trainees in thoracoscopic surgery courses.
