Specializes in single-port and subxiphoid single-port thoracoscopic surgery for early-stage lung cancer and various pulmonary diseases, mediastinal tumors, as well as surgical treatment of tracheal tumors, advanced-stage lung cancer, and complex thymomas. Has been working in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital since 1997, with over 20 years of clinical experience in thoracic surgery, performing more than 1,500 surgeries annually. In 2013, he was among the first experts in China to perform single-port thoracoscopic lobectomy. In 2014, he performed the first subxiphoid single-port thoracoscopic lobectomy in China, and his surgical experience and videos have been presented and demonstrated at numerous international and domestic conferences. Subxiphoid thoracoscopic surgery is suitable for treating early-stage lung cancer, pulmonary bullae, mediastinal tumors, and other conditions. Since it avoids damage to the ribs and intercostal nerves, subxiphoid single-port thoracoscopic surgery significantly reduces both short-term and long-term postoperative wound pain, skin numbness, and other issues. Additionally, it allows for the treatment of bilateral pulmonary lesions through a single incision of approximately 3-4 cm, avoiding the pain associated with conventional bilateral thoracotomy. From July 2006 to September 2007, he studied thoracoscopic surgery and other thoracic surgical techniques in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the United States. He has published over 20 papers and participated in the compilation of 5 monographs. He has led multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Shanghai Science and Technology Development Fund. In 2011, he received the highest honor for young talents in the Shanghai health system—the Silver Snake Award Nomination. In 2015, he won the only highest award—the Excellence Award—in the AME-Medtronic National Thoracoscopic Lung Resection Surgery Video Competition.
