Since graduating from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1990, has been working in the Department of Pediatrics at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Currently serves as Director of the Department of Pediatrics, Director of the Pediatric Teaching and Research Office, Director of the Pediatric Residency Training Base, Professor, Chief Physician, Doctoral (and Postdoctoral) Supervisor, Provincial Teaching Master at Guangdong Province, Baosteel Outstanding Teacher, and Teaching Master at Sun Yat-sen University.
**Academic Achievements:**
Participated in the development of 23 consensus guidelines. Editor-in-chief of 5 textbooks/monographs, Associate Editor-in-chief of 3 textbooks/monographs, and contributing author to 8 textbooks/monographs. Aiming to maximize treatment efficacy and quality of life for children with renal and rheumatic diseases, has conducted a series of studies funded by 3 General Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 sub-projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program, 12 provincial-level projects, 1 Sun Yat-sen University "5010" project, and 1 First Affiliated Hospital "2030" project. Has published over 160 research papers in high-impact domestic and international journals. The promotion and application of key research findings have improved the early diagnosis rate and long-term standardized follow-up rate for childhood kidney diseases, enhancing patient prognosis. Led the development and revision of the "Evidence-based Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Steroid-Sensitive, Relapsing/Dependent Nephrotic Syndrome in Children." Initiated and led a multi-center study involving 37 hospitals nationwide on children with nephrotic syndrome, revealing partial mechanisms of frequent relapse and steroid resistance. The paper "Multi-center Study on the Current Status of Diagnosis and Treatment of Steroid-Sensitive, Relapsing/Dependent Nephrotic Syndrome in Chinese Children (Selected as one of the Top 100 Excellent Papers by the Chinese Medical Association)" was recognized. The "Evidence-based Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Steroid-Sensitive, Relapsing/Dependent Nephrotic Syndrome in Children (2016)" ranked among the top 10 most cited papers. The study "Biological Reference Intervals for 15 Commonly Used Clinical Laboratory Tests in Chinese Children" received the 2022 Chinese Medical Association Science and Technology Paper Certificate and the 7th China Association for Science and Technology Excellent Science and Technology Paper Selection Certificate. Discovered novel biomarkers for the early diagnosis of childhood IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and key mechanisms of disease progression, providing new therapeutic strategies and potential targets for clinical treatment and delaying IgAN progression. The research achievement "Mechanisms of Progression and Construction of a Precision Prevention and Treatment System for Childhood IgA Nephropathy" won the First Prize of the 2022 Guangdong Precision Medicine Science and Technology Award (First Completer). The study "Risk Factors and Key Mechanisms of Progression in Childhood IgA Nephropathy" won the Second Prize of the 4th Guangdong Medical Science and Technology Award in 2022 (First Completer). Participated in the development of national guidelines including "Prevention and Control Recommendations for COVID-19 in Children with Chronic Kidney Disease," "Mind Map for Online Medical Consultation Recommendations for Children with Chronic Kidney Disease," "Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of COVID-19 in Children in Guangdong Province," and "Expert Consensus on Vaccination for Children with Special Conditions (Guangdong)."
