Obtained a Master's degree in Neurosurgery from Southeast University in 1992 and a Doctoral degree from Tianjin Medical University in 2001. Completed a clinical postdoctoral fellowship in Neurosurgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from 2001 to 2003.
