The Department of Stomatology was established in 1995. It currently has 2 dental chairs, 1 dentist, and 2 nurses. The department primarily serves cancer patients and hospital staff. It provides treatment for a variety of oral diseases, including those related to endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral mucosal diseases. Over the years, the department has been dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and health guidance of oral diseases in cancer patients, supporting cancer treatment and improving patients' quality of life. The main conditions treated include: 1. Oral preparation before radiotherapy for head and neck malignancies, as well as the prevention and treatment of complications during and after radiotherapy; 2. Oral preparation before chemotherapy for cancer patients and treatment of dry mouth and mucositis occurring during chemotherapy; 3. Oral preparation before surgery for patients with head and neck, throat, esophageal, and thoracic conditions; 4. Oral preparation before stem cell transplantation for patients in the Department of Lymphohematology/Transplant Immunology; 5. Oral intervention before the use of anti-resorptive drugs in cancer patients with bone metastases, prevention of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, and treatment of stage I and II medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw; 6. Prevention, treatment, and follow-up of oral diseases in cancer patients during treatment and recovery; 7. Oral health education and guidance for cancer patients.
