The Department of Gynecologic Oncology at Peking University Cancer Hospital was established in 2005 and has developed into a comprehensive treatment department integrating surgery, pharmacotherapy, and clinical research. It currently has 32 beds and 32 medical staff, including 7 physicians at the level of associate chief physician or above, undertaking medical care, teaching, and scientific research. Comprehensive implementation of gynecologic oncology-related surgical procedures, such as radical hysterectomy, ovarian cancer staging/cytoreductive surgery, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, inguinal lymph node dissection, endometrial cancer staging surgery, and radical vulvectomy. The department is committed to exploring new techniques in the field, actively promoting sentinel lymph node biopsy, hyperthermic intraperitoneal perfusion therapy/chemotherapy, and other technologies, which are widely applied in clinical treatment. 2. Emphasis on standardization of cancer treatment and focus on multidisciplinary collaboration: Based on authoritative guidelines and supported by the hospital platform, the department forms a multidisciplinary team (MDT) with related departments such as gastrointestinal surgery, urology, radiation oncology, radiology, and pathology, fully leveraging the strengths of each discipline. It performs complex high-difficulty surgeries, such as multi-organ combined resection, and integrates different treatment modalities including surgery, pharmacotherapy, and radiotherapy for individualized diagnosis and treatment, thereby improving patient outcomes. 3. The department ranks among the top in the same specialty nationwide in the number of clinical trials it undertakes annually, providing patients with more opportunities for study enrollment. The team is dedicated to comprehensive patient management, with attention to symptom management; it focuses not only on prolonging patient survival but also on enhancing quality of life.
