Since 2018, the department has been involved in the construction of the "Shanghai Critical Maternal Rescue and Consultation Center" and the "Shanghai Prenatal Diagnosis (Screening) Center." Over the past three years, relying on Zhongshan Hospital's strong multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment capabilities, the department has treated hundreds of patients, including those with contraindications to pregnancy, high-risk pregnant women, and critically ill pregnant women, all of whom were successfully rescued with both mother and child safe.
With the care and support of leaders at all levels, the entire medical and nursing staff of the department adhere to excellent medical traditions, uphold integrity and innovation, and continuously improve the department's rules, regulations, and medical and nursing routines. The department insists on clinical diagnosis and treatment as its foundation while simultaneously developing teaching and research work. Over the years, it has undertaken teaching responsibilities at the Fudan University School of Clinical Medicine and, as a Shanghai standardized residency training base, has cultivated a large number of high-quality obstetrics and gynecology medical professionals. In terms of scientific research, relying on Zhongshan Hospital's central laboratory, the department has undertaken multiple national and municipal research projects over the years, with several department members serving as editorial board members for international and domestic core journals.
