Department Details
The Department of Nutrition at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, established in 1970, currently has a team of 4 professionals, including nutrition physicians and nutrition technicians, comprising 1 with associate senior title, 1 with intermediate title, and 2 with junior titles.
Over years of development, the department has distinguished itself by offering a variety of specialized nutrition clinics, providing guidance on enteral and parenteral nutrition therapy, and closely integrating nutritional treatment with the clinical characteristics of diseases. It operates specialized clinics such as the Weight Loss and Gain Clinic, Perinatal Nutrition Clinic, Polycystic Ovary Nutrition Clinic, and Nutrition Consultation Clinic, offering personalized nutritional guidance to patients with different conditions. Additionally, it conducts nutritional risk screening and assessment for both inpatients and outpatients, provides enteral and parenteral nutrition guidance, and assists in formulating clinical nutritional treatment plans. The department's physicians possess extensive clinical experience and a solid foundation in nutritional knowledge, enabling them to closely align disease nutritional support with clinical diagnosis and treatment.
In terms of scientific research and education, the department currently has one municipal-level research project in progress. Over the past two years, it has published two books as editor-in-chief or editorial board member: *A Concise Guide to Clinical Nutrition in Respiratory Diseases* and *Fruit Nutrition*. It also collaborates with the Nursing Department to provide training for clinical nutrition specialist nurses and offers nutritional knowledge training to physicians from community hospitals within our hospital's medical alliance.
