For decades, the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Specialty Group of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Department has adhered to the academic spirit of integrating ancient wisdom with modern knowledge, continuously inheriting and developing traditional TCM external therapies such as acupuncture, tuina (massage), spinal manipulation, acupoint application, and cupping. Over the past ten years, it has also actively innovated and introduced various new therapies, including small-needle scalpel, acupoint catgut embedding, and floating needle therapy, achieving remarkable efficacy in treating spinal and joint disorders, neurological diseases, endocrine system disorders, digestive system diseases, gynecological conditions, and otorhinolaryngological diseases, earning widespread praise from patients. In recent years, aligning with the hospital's development opportunities, the group has actively expanded research and clinical work in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for respiratory rehabilitation, knee osteoarthritis, and obesity, achieving satisfactory results. It has become a standing council member unit of the Guangdong Provincial Acupuncture and Moxibustion Society and has been awarded the title of Guangzhou Municipal Famous TCM Specialty. Currently, building on the original acupuncture specialty and fully utilizing the platform resources of the hospital and the broader TCM Department, a Traditional Therapy Center has been established. This center categorizes, integrates, and innovates both new and traditional TCM techniques, providing standardized treatments tailored to different diseases, thereby enhancing clinical efficacy and benefiting more patients.
