The Department of Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolism at Shanghai Children's Medical Center was established in 1998, under the direct guidance and participation of renowned Chinese pediatric experts including Professors Guo Di, Feng Shumo, Qi Jiayi, Ying Daming, Wu Shengmei, Huang Rongkui, and Shen Yongnian. The team has extensive experience in treating conditions such as childhood short stature, precocious puberty, gonadal dysplasia, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, thyroid disorders, bone metabolic abnormalities, Noonan syndrome, and Turner syndrome. Their clinical expertise in managing diabetes insipidus, multiple pituitary hormone deficiencies, disorders of sex development, and various small molecule and organelle genetic metabolic diseases is increasingly mature. The department is dedicated to advancing laboratory diagnostic techniques for endocrine, genetic, and metabolic disorders, and has implemented numerous genetic testing projects for endocrine diseases, providing support for the diagnosis and treatment of clinically complex cases. Building on this foundation, the department has accumulated diagnostic and therapeutic experience in rare and difficult conditions such as Cornelia de Lange syndrome, Alström syndrome, congenital disorders of glycosylation, Kabuki syndrome, and mucopolysaccharidosis, striving to maintain a high level of synchronization with international standards. The nursing team of the Department of Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolism is guided by advanced international concepts, working collaboratively with precise professional skills, while embodying humanistic care and specialized characteristics.
