As a core component of the Shanghai Nuclear Radiation Medical Rescue Base, the Department of Nuclear Radiation Medicine was officially established in April 2010 and was included in the key discipline development plan of our hospital's "12th Five-Year Plan." The nuclear radiation medical rescue team, primarily composed of the Department of Nuclear Radiation Medicine, made significant contributions to the medical security work during the World Expo and was honored as an Advanced Collective for World Expo Medical and Health Security by the Shanghai Health System. The department currently has 8 professional staff members specializing in radiation protection, radiation medicine, nuclear physics, and clinical medicine. This includes 2 physicians (1 chief physician), 1 registered nuclear safety engineer, 5 technicians, and 5 staff members with a master's degree or higher. Leveraging the resource advantages of the national-level nuclear radiation rescue base, the department has developed into a comprehensive unit integrating emergency response, medical treatment, detection and evaluation, and scientific research for nuclear and radiation accidents.
