### Second-level Medical Discipline, Master's Training Site Currently has 2 master's supervisors. There are 11 practicing physicians, 2 technicians, and over ten nurses. Among the physicians, there is 1 senior title (Professor/Chief Physician), 4 associate senior titles, 4 intermediate titles, and 2 resident physicians. The ward has 18 beds. The daily outpatient volume for general clinics is approximately 200 patients. Additionally, there are 10 units for professorial outpatient services, as well as specialized clinics for plastic surgery, dry eye, strabismus and amblyopia, low vision rehabilitation, fundus diseases, and uveitis. The department is equipped with advanced facilities, including an A/B ultrasound examination room, fundus fluorescein angiography room, strabismus and amblyopia examination room, electrophysiology examination room, visual field examination room, and corneal topography room, providing high-level services for patients. This discipline possesses a talent echelon capable of completing ophthalmic medical research and teaching, along with domestically advanced medical equipment. Clinically, it has the comprehensive ability to diagnose and treat common diseases, as well as critical, acute, and severe cases, particularly ocular diseases associated with systemic conditions and complex ocular trauma. Currently, the main procedures performed include: phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation, glaucoma filtration surgery, combined glaucoma and cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgeries such as ptosis correction, blepharoplasty, and lower eyelid bag removal, correction of various types of strabismus (including concomitant and paralytic), nystagmus correction, orbital tumor resection, orbital implant placement, various lacrimal duct reconstruction surgeries, ocular trauma repair and eyelid reconstruction, and corneal transplantation. In June 2003, our hospital collaborated with the Guangdong Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation to establish the Guangdong Provincial Low Vision Rehabilitation Technology Guidance Center. This is the only provincial-level low vision rehabilitation technology resource center in Guangdong. The center is equipped with advanced examination devices and has the most comprehensive collection of dozens of low vision aids in the province. It is one of the earliest specialized clinics in our department. Currently, it is equipped with a series of advanced visual function examination devices and has a comprehensive system for diagnosing and treating strabismus, amblyopia, and asthenopia, as well as assessing binocular visual function. Over the past decade, the specialist team led by Professor Liao Ruiduan has treated countless patients. They have successfully cured a large number of children with strabismus and amblyopia and performed corrective surgeries for various complex types of strabismus with excellent outcomes. The clinic's advanced equipment, the expertise of its specialists, and their high ethical standards have earned widespread praise from patients, attracting individuals from across the province, including cities within Guangdong, as well as neighboring provinces such as Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, and Hainan. ### Low Vision Specialty Clinic **Clinic Hours:** Thursday afternoons **Clinic Staff:** Professor Liao Ruiduan, Associate Chief Physician Chen Yongchong, Attending Physician Zhu Wenhui, Attending Physician Feng Juanjuan **Specialty Features:** The Guangdong Provincial Low Vision Rehabilitation Technology Guidance Center, a collaboration between the Guangdong Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation and our hospital, was officially established in the Ophthalmology Department in June 2003. This center integrates low vision diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, screening, research, and training of rehabilitation professionals. It is responsible for providing low vision rehabilitation technology consultation and guidance to 21 prefecture-level cities across the province, as well as promoting and disseminating knowledge about low vision rehabilitation. The center is the only provincial-level low vision disability rehabilitation institution in Guangdong equipped with advanced facilities, comprehensive low vision rehabilitation methods, and the most extensive range of low vision aids. It effectively carries out low vision rehabilitation work throughout the province. Professor Liao Ruiduan serves as the center's director, while Associate Chief Physician Chen Yongchong and leaders from the Rehabilitation Department of the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation serve as deputy directors. Through training sessions, rural outreach, and screenings at schools for the blind, the center promotes awareness and establishes a low vision rehabilitation service network across the province. The center's low vision specialty clinic and low vision aid fitting department were established shortly after its inauguration. The attending specialists possess extensive clinical experience, a patient and meticulous work attitude, and provide diagnostic and visual rehabilitation services to numerous low vision patients with enthusiasm. The Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation has provided the center with dozens of exquisite, comprehensive, and aesthetically pleasing low vision aids, including distance and near vision aids, monocular portable aids, spectacle-type aids, and electronic aids, offering the final opportunity for visual rehabilitation to every low vision patient. ### Oculoplastic Surgery Specialty Clinic **Clinic Hours:** Monday afternoons and Thursday afternoons **Clinic Staff:** Associate Chief Physician Wu Shanhong, Associate Professor Luo Rongjiang, Attending Physician Huo Lijun, Attending Physician Huang Jingwen **Specialty Features:** The Oculoplastic Surgery Specialty Clinic has 2 associate senior title physicians and 2 attending physicians. It specializes in various oculoplastic and cosmetic surgeries, including: ptosis correction, blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery), correction of entropion and ectropion, orbital implant placement (artificial eye installation), lower eyelid bag removal and rejuvenation (for elderly patients with puffy eyelids or loose eyelid skin), corneal opacity removal (corneal transplantation), and surgical excision of various superficial ocular tumors. ### Fundus Disease Specialty Clinic **Clinic Hours:** Monday afternoons **Clinic Staff:** Associate Chief Physician Chen Xuemei, Professor Liao Ruiduan, Attending Physician Huo Lijun, Attending Physician Huang Jingwen **Specialty Features:** The Fundus Disease Specialty Clinic is equipped with advanced fundus examination devices, including a fundus fluorescein angiography system, fundus camera, A/B ultrasound scanner, visual field analyzer, visual electrophysiology system, binocular indirect ophthalmoscope, and retinal acuity tester. The clinic boasts a highly skilled medical team, including 1 chief physician, 1 associate chief physician, and 2 attending physicians. They have extensive clinical experience in diagnosing and treating retinal and choroidal diseases, retinal vascular diseases, optic nerve diseases, and retinopathy of prematurity. The clinic is particularly adept at managing ocular manifestations of systemic diseases (such as diabetes, hypertension, pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, and pituitary tumors).
