**Basic Department Information:** The Rhinology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University currently has 37 beds. It is a National Key Discipline (Ministry of Education) and a National Key Clinical Specialty (Ministry of Health). **Clinical Work:** As the founding unit of endoscopic sinus surgery in China, the department pioneered the fields of endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, and endoscopic rhinoorbit-related surgery. Endoscopic surgery at the department holds a leading position in China. The annual training courses "New Advances in Nasal Endoscopic Surgery and Research on Chronic Rhinosinusitis" and "Endoscopic Anatomy of the Sinuses and Adjacent Regions" are the most renowned courses in this specialty within China. 1. **Endoscopic Sinus Surgery:** As the earliest unit in China to perform endoscopic sinus surgery, the department completes over 1,500 cases annually. Surgeries performed include: transnasal endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis, endoscopic surgery for complex chronic rhinosinusitis, transnasal endoscopic resection of sinonasal malignancies, transnasal endoscopic resection of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (Stage III and IV), transnasal endoscopic repair of nasal septal perforation, and transnasal endoscopic repair of meningoencephalocele. Most of these surgeries were first reported in China. 2. **Endoscopic Rhinoorbit-Related Surgery:** As the earliest unit in China to conduct related research and clinical work, the department's research on transnasal endoscopic optic nerve decompression for traumatic optic neuropathy and iatrogenic/inflammatory/tumorous optic nerve damage is at a leading national level. The department has also pioneered transnasal endoscopic orbital tumor resection and orbital decompression. Over 100 related surgical cases are completed annually. 3. **Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery:** As the earliest unit in China to conduct related research and clinical work, the department performs transnasal endoscopic repair of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea, resection of olfactory neuroblastoma, transnasal endoscopic resection of complex pituitary adenomas, transnasal endoscopic removal of skull base foreign bodies, and transnasal endoscopic resection of tumors in the pterygopalatine fossa and infratemporal fossa. **Scientific Research:** 1. Has received the First Prize (twice) and Second Prize (once) for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Commission, as well as Third Prize (twice). 2.
