### Academic Status
Vice Chairman of the Sixth National Plastic Surgery Society of the Chinese Medical Association; Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Plastic Surgery Society.
Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Standing Editorial Board Member of the *Chinese Journal of Microsurgery*. The department boasts Professor Yu Guozhong, a pioneer in plastic surgery in Guangdong Province with high domestic and international recognition, as well as a group of young and middle-aged experts with considerable domestic and international reputations.
### Medical Services
One of the earliest specialties in Guangdong Province to apply microsurgical techniques to plastic repair and aesthetic surgery, achieving advanced domestic and international standards.
For over fifty years, the scope of specialized diagnosis and treatment includes: congenital deformities and defects of the ears, nose, mouth, hands, feet, and limbs; reconstruction and repair of defects, scar deformities, and functional impairments caused by burns and trauma; repair and reconstruction of scar alopecia and eyebrow defects; double eyelid reconstruction and blepharoplasty; rhinoplasty and breast augmentation (breast enhancement, breast reconstruction); correction of nipple deformities, reduction mammoplasty for macromastia, and correction and reshaping of breast ptosis; abdominal and trunk liposuction for body contouring; and correction of disorders of sex development.
Meticulous reconstruction is performed for spastic cerebral palsy, facial nerve palsy, various nerve injuries, lymphatic diseases, hemangiomas, and giant nevi of the body surface. Additionally, there is extensive experience in treating chronic refractory ulcers caused by injury, trauma, radiation injury, and diabetes.
### Research Awards
1. The CAI software (Burns and Cold Injuries) produced by Su Aiyun et al. won the Second Prize for Excellent Multimedia Software from the Guangdong Provincial Higher Education Department in 1998.
2. Cheng Gang participated in the "Prospective Study of SPR for Spastic Cerebral Palsy," which won the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements from the Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission in 1998.
3. Cheng Gang participated in the "Series Study on SC and SC-Related Proteins," which won the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements from the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Commission in 1999.
