The Cell Biology Research Laboratory was established in 1976 under the leadership of the late renowned cell biologist, Academician Wang Kunren, and is one of the earliest departments in our institution. The laboratory currently has one senior professional title holder (professor-level), one associate senior professional title holder, two intermediate professional title holders, and multiple postdoctoral fellows and doctoral students. Tumor treatment resistance, recurrence, and metastasis are the main factors contributing to poor prognosis in cancer patients. Based on clinical cohorts and in vivo/in vitro models, the laboratory utilizes multi-omics and artificial intelligence technologies, combined with functional validation, to identify the cellular and molecular basis and regulatory mechanisms underlying tumor treatment resistance, recurrence, and metastasis. It aims to discover new therapeutic targets and conduct innovative drug research. In recent years, the laboratory has led multiple major national research tasks, including projects under the National Key Research and Development Program and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Representative achievements have been published in journals such as *Cancer Cell* and *Nature Communications*. The laboratory has also received one First Prize of the Natural Science Award from Chinese Universities and one Second Prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award.
