The Day Chemotherapy Unit of Peking University Cancer Hospital was established in 2012, making it one of the earliest day chemotherapy centers in China. Leveraging the hospital's integrated resources and strong oncology expertise, it has developed a mature, safe, efficient, and high-quality day diagnosis and treatment service system. The unit comprehensively provides chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and clinical trials, supported by a professional team foundation and quality management system, enabling it to deliver diagnosis and treatment services that meet international standards. As an early pioneer in the day medical model in China, our center has accumulated extensive experience in process management, quality control, and patient services, forming a leading and exemplary "PKUCH Day Care" service model and management pathway. The unit currently has 68 treatment chairs and implements a time-slot appointment management system. The main services include: (1) same-day admission and discharge; (2) outpatient chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy; (3) internal medicine outpatient procedures such as thoracoabdominal puncture and catheterization, thoracoabdominal effusion drainage, intra-thoracoabdominal antitumor drug therapy, and bone marrow aspiration and biopsy; (4) subcutaneous or intramuscular injections and arterial blood sampling. As a Humanities Department designated by the Beijing Hospital Management Center, the unit continuously optimizes diagnosis and treatment processes, enhances doctor-patient communication, and improves the patient experience. Currently, it serves 19 clinical departments across the hospital, contributing to the high-quality development of the entire institution. The medical and nursing team is highly experienced and proficient in managing adverse reactions and emergencies during patient treatment, ensuring patient safety. Through deep collaboration with departments such as Supportive Care, Nutrition, and Pharmacy, the unit has pioneered an "integrated supportive care day model." By standardizing and individualizing the management of tumor-related symptoms and treatment adverse reactions, it comprehensively improves patient treatment tolerance and quality of life. The unit has received numerous international and domestic awards, establishing itself as a benchmark for day chemotherapy in China. The annual brand academic conference "Supportive Care Meets Day Care," organized by the team, has become an important platform for sharing practical experience and cutting-edge ideas. Team members possess extensive clinical experience and strong industry influence in the treatment of malignant tumors, including head and neck cancer, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal tumors, and breast cancer.
