VIP-II Ward is a special-needs ward in our hospital, established in 2009. It is equipped with good facilities and 7 single rooms with private bathrooms, providing special-needs medical services. The ward has a medical team of 10 doctors specializing in digestive system tumors and a nursing team of 12 members. Among them, 8 hold doctoral degrees, and 6 have senior professional titles. Our department adheres to the philosophy of "Care and Comfort, Standardized Treatment" to offer patients a comfortable and favorable medical environment along with special-needs medical services. We consistently focus on "patient-centered care, improving diagnostic and treatment levels, and safety" in all our work, striving to build a high-standard, high-requirement medical team specialized in digestive system tumors. While providing special-needs medical care, we also offer general outpatient services for digestive system diseases covered by medical insurance and day ward inpatient treatments under medical insurance, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy for malignant tumors of the digestive system such as esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, hepatobiliary cancer, and pancreatic cancer. We conduct preoperative neoadjuvant therapy, postoperative adjuvant therapy, conversion therapy, and multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment, with the primary goal of improving patient cure rates and prolonging survival. Over the past decade, the department has undertaken multiple basic research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Beijing Youth Talent Program, and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation. It has also initiated and participated in numerous clinical studies on esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer, publishing dozens of papers in both Chinese and English journals. Team members hold academic positions in the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), the Beijing Anti-Cancer Association, and the Beijing Cancer Prevention and Treatment Society.
