Department Details
The Department of Rehabilitation was established in 1995, making it the first department in China within a specialized oncology hospital dedicated to the field of psychosocial oncology. It is also the most comprehensively structured and largest leading team in the field of oncological psychology in China. The department director, Tang Lili, is a pioneer in psychosocial oncology in China. As a discipline leader, she promoted the establishment of the Psychosocial Oncology Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and the Psychosocial Oncology Committee of the Beijing Anti-Cancer Association, and currently serves as the chairperson of both committees. Over the past 30 years since its founding, the Department of Rehabilitation has adhered to the principle of holistic patient care, taking the development of psychosocial oncology in China as its mission. It has continuously integrated psychosocial care into clinical oncology practice, playing a particularly important role in cancer supportive care, palliative care, and hospice care. It has now become the most authoritative national specialized department and training base for psychosocial oncology, integrating clinical service, teaching, and research, and was among the first batch selected as a "Model Department for Humanities Construction in Municipal Hospitals" in Beijing.
