**Ward 3, Gastrointestinal Tumor Center (formerly Colorectal and Stoma Ward)** is the first clinical department in Beijing specializing in the surgical treatment of colorectal tumors. Adhering to the principles of "Patient-Centered Care," "Discipline-Oriented Development," and "Education-First Approach," Ward 3 focuses on standardized surgery for colorectal cancer (minimally invasive and open surgery), diagnosis and treatment of complex and difficult colorectal tumors, stoma surgery and nursing, and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) as its professional features and research directions. **Diseases Treated:** Colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, rare gastrointestinal tumors (gastrointestinal stromal tumors, neuroendocrine tumors, melanoma), etc. Ward 3 follows a multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnostic and treatment model, comprehensively integrating surgical, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy modalities. It has established and promoted an individualized neoadjuvant treatment system for colorectal cancer. The department possesses extensive experience in highly complex surgical areas such as abdominopelvic recurrence and metastasis, malignant bowel obstruction, and cancerous acute abdomen. Simultaneously, it continuously innovates in areas including complex stoma surgery, functional rehabilitation after rectal cancer surgery, minimally invasive gastrointestinal tumor surgery, and the Hyper-ERAS rehabilitation model, forming a comprehensive and technically proficient diagnostic and treatment system. Currently, the ward has 29 open beds, with an annual outpatient volume of 25,000 visits and 1,100 surgical procedures. The department places great emphasis on talent development, establishing a tiered medical talent structure led by high-level experts with young professionals as the core. The nursing team includes specialized roles in stoma care, wound care, discharge management, and case management, providing patients with comprehensive, continuous nursing services. A high-quality disciplinary system has been formed, centered on precision diagnosis and treatment, utilizing the MDT platform, driven by research translation, and supported by specialized nursing. The team is a highly influential professional group in the field of gastrointestinal tumor surgery both domestically and internationally. The department currently has a total of 52 medical, nursing, and research staff, including 20 physicians (7 Chief Physicians, 6 Associate Chief Physicians), 26 nurses, 2 researchers, and 4 other healthcare technical personnel. Relying on the National Key Discipline and National Key Clinical Specialty, the department serves as a postdoctoral research station and a training site for doctoral and master's degree candidates at Peking University. It undertakes national and Beijing municipal continuing education courses and postgraduate courses. As a founding unit, it participated in formulating the "Ministry of Health Colorectal Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Standards" and the "Chinese Expert Consensus on the Watch-and-Wait Strategy after Neoadjuvant Therapy for Rectal Cancer." It has trained numerous postdoctoral fellows, doctoral and master's degree graduates, visiting scholars, visiting physicians, and undergraduate research project students. The department currently has 2 doctoral supervisors and 5 master's supervisors. Affiliated with the National Key Laboratory for Integrated Prevention and Treatment of Digestive System Tumors and the Key Laboratory of Carcinogenesis and Translational Research (Ministry of Education), the department focuses on refractory colorectal cancer. Research efforts center on the mechanisms of refractory colorectal cancer development, organ preservation in gastrointestinal tumors, the tumor immune microenvironment and its regulation, and clinical translational research. It is currently conducting over 30 active clinical studies. The department undertakes sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Beijing Key Medical Professional Development Plan (Yangfan Key Projects), and the Dengfeng Talent Program. In the past five years, it has published over 130 papers in domestic and international journals such as *JAMA Surgery*, *Annals of Surgery*, *Cancer Cell*, *Science Translational Medicine*, *Diseases of the Colon & Rectum*, and the *Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery*.
