The Pharmacy Department of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital is a comprehensive drug service unit integrating drug procurement and supply, dispensing and preparation, drug management, clinical pharmacy, and scientific research and teaching. It comprises the Outpatient and Emergency Pharmacy, Tuberculosis Pharmacy, Inpatient Pharmacy, Yanqing Road Outpatient Pharmacy, Pneumoconiosis Ward 2 Pharmacy, Central Dispensing Station, Operating Room Anesthesia Pharmacy, Intravenous Admixture Center, Drug Warehouse, and Clinical Pharmacy Office.
Adhering to the hospital motto "Refining Medicine, Upholding the Way, Pragmatic and Innovative," and promoting the core value of "Humanized Service, Professional Management," the department operates with a patient-centered and quality-focused approach in all tasks. It closely integrates the needs of medical care, teaching, and research to fulfill hospital pharmacy-related work, including drug supply, dispensing, adverse drug reaction monitoring, drug consultation, clinical pharmacy, and pharmacy training. All activities strictly comply with the *Drug Administration Law* and relevant regulations, establishing a robust drug quality assurance system to ensure the safety and efficacy of clinical medications.
Our hospital is renowned for its distinctive respiratory specialty services, offering a comprehensive range of therapeutic drugs for respiratory diseases. It also produces several unique in-house preparations, such as Zhikuo Yangyin Granules and Zhikuo Yangyin Tablets, which demonstrate excellent clinical efficacy and high patient satisfaction. A specialized pharmacy outpatient clinic has been established, providing extensive pharmaceutical service experience in respiratory chronic diseases, lung cancer, lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, and tuberculosis. In collaboration with the Department of Thoracic Surgery, blood concentration monitoring is conducted for immunosuppressive drugs in lung transplant patients, providing evidence for clinical medication, reducing adverse reactions, and improving lung transplant survival rates.
Currently, the department has 1 chief pharmacist, 3 deputy chief pharmacists, 21 supervising pharmacists, 4 postdoctoral fellows and doctoral degree holders, and 8 master's degree holders, forming a well-structured team with significant potential for disciplinary development. In recent years, the department has been awarded 1 National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project, 2 provincial/ministerial-level projects, and 1 municipal talent program. It has received honors including the National Advanced Collective in Pharmaceutical Information Work, the Shanghai Excellent Information Management Award, 2 Shanghai Advanced Individual Awards in Pharmaceutical Information Work, 1 Shanghai Outstanding Clinical Pharmacist Nomination, and 2 Shanghai Clinical Pharmacist Training Excellence Awards. Additionally, it has been recognized as a Shanghai Excellent Service Demonstration Window, a Shanghai Health Industry Youth Civilization Unit, an Advanced Collective in Shanghai Rational Drug Use Publicity and Education Activities, and a Shanghai Rational Drug Use Demonstration Unit.
In the past five years, the department has published over 30 papers, including 10 SCI-indexed articles with a total impact factor of 40.605, forming a professional focus on clinical evaluation and drug services for inhaled drugs, lung transplant drugs, lung tumor drugs, and tuberculosis drugs.
