The Department of Clinical Laboratory of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital (Affiliated Pulmonary Hospital of Tongji University) was established in the 1960s. It is a modern experimental diagnostic institution integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research. The department has a total of 40 staff members, including 8 with doctoral degrees, 1 currently pursuing a doctorate, 10 with master's degrees, and 2 currently pursuing master's degrees; 2 chief laboratory technologists, 4 deputy chief laboratory technologists, and 22 supervising laboratory technologists; 1 doctoral supervisor and 3 master's supervisors. The department obtained CNAS "ISO15189" quality control system certification in 2018 and joined the National Fungal Resistance Surveillance Network in 2020. It currently comprises the Outpatient Group, Clinical Examination Group, Biochemistry Group, Immunology Group, General Bacteriology Group, Tuberculosis Molecular Group, and Blood Bank. Adhering to the hospital motto of "Refining Medicine, Upholding Ethics, Pragmatic and Innovative," and following the work principle of "Professional Management, Humanized Service," the department is consistently dedicated to providing accurate test reports and professional clinical laboratory consultation services for patients and clinical practitioners.
