The English journal *Chinese Journal of Cancer Research* (CN 11-2591/R, ISSN 1000-9604) was founded in 1988. It is supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and undertaken by Peking University Cancer Hospital. Currently published bimonthly, it primarily features the latest research progress and academic achievements in the fields of oncology basic research, clinical research, and prevention and control. *Chinese Journal of Cancer Research* was included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database in 2008, becoming the first oncology journal in China to be indexed by SCI. It was included in the PubMed/PubMed Central (PMC) database in 2012, and is also indexed by several other renowned domestic and international databases, including Scopus, Chemical Abstracts (CA), EMBASE, CSCD, CSTPCD, and CNKI. It was selected for the first and second phases of the "International Impact Enhancement Program for Chinese Sci-Tech Journals" in 2013 and 2016, respectively, and for the first and second phases of the "Excellent Sci-Tech Journal Action Plan for Chinese Sci-Tech Journals" in 2019 and 2024, respectively. For many consecutive years, it has been recognized as "China's Most Internationally Influential Academic Journal" and "China's International High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal". It is ranked at T1 level in the "Oncology Sci-Tech Journal Classification Directory" (Fifth Edition, December 2025) published by the China Association for Science and Technology. The 2024 impact factor of *Chinese Journal of Cancer Research* is 6.3, with a subject ranking of 51/326 (Q1). The current Honorary Editor-in-Chief of *Chinese Journal of Cancer Research* is Professor Zhan Qimin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The Editor-in-Chief is Professor Ke Yang, former Director of the Genetics Research Laboratory at Peking University Cancer Hospital and a foreign academician of the American Academy of Medical Sciences. The Executive Editor-in-Chief is Professor Ji Jiafu, Chief Expert of the Gastrointestinal Tumor Center at Peking University Cancer Hospital, Director of the Peking University Cancer Research Center, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief is Professor Chen Wanqing, Deputy Director of the Tumor Resource Department at the National Cancer Center and Director of the Cancer Registry Office at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The advisors include Professor Ding Jian (academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor Lin Dongxin (academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor Xu Binghe (academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor Yu Jinming (academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor Zhang Xuemin (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), and Professor Zhang Zemin (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences). The current editorial board comprises 96 renowned oncology experts from both domestic and international institutions, with nearly 50% of members being overseas scholars, primarily from countries and regions such as the United States, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
