Professor (Level II), Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor at Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; Expert for Central Cadre Health Care. He has long been engaged in clinical and basic research on urogenital tumors and andrology, with particular expertise in complex and intractable urological and andrological diseases, especially the diagnosis and treatment of urogenital tumors, male sexual dysfunction, and prostate diseases. He has profound accomplishments in nephron-sparing surgery for renal tumors, surgery for renal cell carcinoma with vena cava tumor thrombus, diagnosis and treatment of hereditary renal cell carcinoma, anatomical retropubic radical prostatectomy, and penile prosthesis implantation. In scientific research, as principal investigator, he has received 6 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 12 provincial and ministerial-level projects, with cumulative research funding exceeding 10 million yuan, and has published more than 30 SCI-indexed papers as first author or corresponding author. In teaching, he has trained more than 40 doctoral and master's students. He served as editor-in-chief of monographs including *Prevention and Management of Complications in Urological Surgery*, *Clinical Renal Oncology*, and *Clinical Practice in Urology*, and participated in the compilation of works including *Wu Jieping Urology*. In 1998, he was selected as one of the Top 100 Cross-Century Outstanding Academic Leaders in the Shanghai Health System; in 2004, he received the title of Shanghai "Top Ten Doctors" and the First Shanghai Second Medical University President's Award; in 2006, he was awarded the Shanghai "May 1st Labor Medal"; in 2007, he received the highest honor in urology, the "Wu Jieping Urological Medical Award." As first completer, he was awarded the First Prize of the 2014 Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, the First Prize of the 2015 Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, and the Second Prize of the 2016 Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award. In 2015, Professor Huang Yiran took the lead in donating 500,000 yuan to initiate the establishment of the "Yiran Education Fund" at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, aiming to leverage the disciplinary advantages of the Department of Urology at Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine to establish a platform for training in key clinical diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, specialized nursing training, and departmental management training, so as to improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment level of urology in primary healthcare institutions, especially in impoverished areas, train urology specialists, and better benefit patients. To date, more than 5 million yuan has been raised, supporting nearly 30 urologists from 15 primary healthcare institutions in 8 provinces and autonomous regions including Yunnan, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia to come to Shanghai for further training. The "Yiran Education Flying Project" has been established in more than 10 primary hospitals, 5 impoverished areas have been surveyed and visited, and more than ten academic conferences of various types have been jointly held. This project was honored with the 2018 Top Ten Good Deeds in the System of the Working Committee for Education and Health of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee.
