Research Work Basic and clinical research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); participated in major COPD research projects under the National Tenth Five-Year Plan, Eleventh Five-Year Plan, Twelfth Five-Year Plan, and the National Health and Family Planning Commission's industry special projects. Conducted basic and clinical research on bronchial asthma, pulmonary infections, and interstitial lung diseases. Participated in the formulation of national diagnosis and treatment protocols for avian influenza and other influenza-related diseases, as well as the development of clinical pathways for related diseases under the National Health and Family Planning Commission. Served as corresponding author in the development of China's guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Participated in the expert consensus on anti-infective therapy for acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In 2003, recognized as an advanced individual in the fight against SARS at the national, Beijing municipal, Peking University, and China Democratic League levels. Received multiple honorary titles including Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Physician from Peking University, Peking University Health Science Center, and Peking University Third Hospital.
