Medical Career: Graduated from the First Military Medical University in 1978, and was admitted as a postgraduate student to the Second Military Medical University in the same year. She obtained a Master's degree in Plastic Surgery in 1981. She received one year of English training at the Foreign Language Training Center of Sun Yat-sen University in 1990. Starting from 1991, she studied in Japan twice for a total of six years and was awarded a Doctor of Medical Science degree from Nihon University School of Medicine. She serves as the academic leader of the Provincial "Five Ones Project for Discipline, Teaching and Medicine" and a recipient of the Ding Ying Award. She was honored as the Guangdong Provincial Pioneer of Women's Scientific and Technological Innovation in 2001 and was included in the Guangdong Famous Doctor Project in 2004. She has been awarded one Second-Class Merit and two Third-Class Merits. In 2008, she won the 10th Wu Jieping Medical Research Award — Paul Janssen Pharmaceutical Research Award.

Research Profile: As the first author, she was awarded 1 Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 Second Prizes of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 Second Prize of the Military Medical Achievement Award, and 2 Third Prizes of the Military Science and Technology Progress Award. She holds 3 national utility model patents. She has undertaken 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 2 Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects and 1 project funded by the National Health Commission. She has published 175 papers as the first or second author (including 15 in English, 5 in Japanese and 2 in Spanish). She participated in compiling 5 major monographs and acted as the associate editor-in-chief for another 3. She has supervised 50 postgraduate students, including 28 masters and 22 doctors. Her postgraduate students have published more than 100 papers, achieving major breakthroughs and innovations especially in the genetic diagnosis and treatment of keloid fibroblasts as well as three-dimensional measurement and simulation design for breast plastic surgery. Among her students, two won the First Prize of the Outstanding Postgraduate of South Guangdong, one won the Second Prize of the Academician Scholarship, and one won the Third Prize of the Academician Scholarship.
