Graduated from the Medical Department of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1989, and obtained a Doctorate in Surgery from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1998, where he has remained on staff to the present. Advanced training in surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong in 2001, and further training at Tampere University Hospital, Finland from 2005 to 2006, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid and breast diseases. Other major work achievements (e.g., awards): Led multiple national and provincial science funds, conducted and participated in numerous clinical trials on thyroid and breast surgery; research achievements awarded the Third Prize of the Chinese Medical Science Award and the Second Prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
