The Department of Stomatology was founded in 1974. In recent years, with the support of hospital leadership and under the guidance of Director Su Yi, the Department of Stomatology has developed into a modern dental treatment center capable of comprehensive oral treatment. Both its diagnostic and treatment technologies and its equipment and materials are at the leading level in Shanghai's dental field. The Department of Stomatology currently has 18 medical and nursing staff, including 1 associate chief physician, 5 attending physicians, 10 staff members with master's degrees, and 1 doctoral student. Its scope of diagnosis and treatment includes oral medicine, oral surgery, prosthodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, implantology, oral mucosal diseases, pediatric oral diseases, and adult snoring correction, among other items. It has formed a number of specialized diagnostic and treatment projects, including denture implantation, correction of malaligned dentition, root canal therapy, and long-term denture restoration. The use of cone beam CT (CBCT) provides an important guarantee for determining accurate three-dimensional directions for implantation and for the precise diagnosis of other oral diseases. The Department of Stomatology has developed its own diagnostic and treatment characteristics. We formulate an overall oral treatment plan for each patient, saving patients time and energy. The Department of Stomatology does everything within its ability to give back to our hospital, the broad population of patients, and society.
