The Department of Pharmacy at Peking University International Hospital has a mature and advanced drug informatization and intelligent management system, achieving integrated specialty management of drug management, drug dispensing, and medical order review. The department has introduced an intelligent drug cabinet management system, which is equipped in each pharmacy, clinical department, and operating room, and is managed by designated pharmacists, scientifically and effectively ensuring drug supply and making clinical medication more timely and convenient. The Department of Pharmacy currently has 44 pharmacists, including 1 with a senior professional title, 28 with intermediate professional titles, 1 with a doctoral degree, and 6 with master's degrees. At present, our department has 5 full-time clinical pharmacists, responsible for five major professional areas: the Neurology Center, Heart Center, Anti-infection, Geriatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as one clinical pharmacist each for nutrition, pain, hematologic lymphoma, and antitumor therapy. They participate in pharmaceutical care for ward patients, clinical consultations, rational drug use training, adverse reaction monitoring, and other work, making unremitting efforts for the safety and rational use of drugs for patients. In terms of teaching work, the Department of Pharmacy actively undertakes the clinical pharmacology course for the clinical medicine program at Peking University Health Science Center, has held national seminars on new progress in intelligent pharmacies and big data construction for several consecutive years, and selects pharmacists each year to participate in specialized clinical pharmacist training, continuously strengthening the construction of the pharmacist team and adding high-quality new forces to the clinical pharmacist team.
