The Department of Retroperitoneal Tumor Surgery at Peking University International Hospital is a specialized department in China dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, research, and education of retroperitoneal tumors, with an annual surgical volume of over 500 cases, demonstrating significant advantages in the comprehensive management of complex and difficult retroperitoneal tumors. The department is committed to precision surgery and comprehensive management of benign and malignant retroperitoneal tumors, recurrent tumors, and rare cases, adhering to the treatment principles of combining standardization with individualization, and has accumulated extensive experience particularly in radical tumor resection, protection and reconstruction of vital organ functions. The department team actively participates in disciplinary development and academic innovation, having contributed to the compilation of several important monographs including "Retroperitoneal Tumors," "Surgery of Retroperitoneal Tumors," and "Retroperitoneal Tumors: Clinical Management," and undertakes multiple research projects funded by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
