The Department of Hematology at Peking University International Hospital was established in 2014, making it one of the earliest disciplines founded in the hospital and a key developing discipline. Currently, it has over 40 general chemotherapy beds and 18 available laminar flow rooms for transplantation. The team currently consists of more than 10 members, including chief physicians, associate chief physicians, attending physicians, and technicians. The nursing team for the chemotherapy ward and transplantation ward totals approximately 30 people, with more than half of the nurses holding bachelor's degrees. At present, the department has a well-structured talent echelon, and all team members have completed training within the Peking University medical system, possessing solid medical theoretical knowledge and rich clinical experience. The discipline is characterized by hematological malignancies, including the precise diagnosis of various types of leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, and treatment approaches primarily based on chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The hematology laboratory is capable of conducting most diagnostic and testing work. Additionally, it has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of benign hematological diseases such as bone marrow failure diseases, various types of anemia, platelet disorders, and coagulation disorders. The discipline leader is Professor Ren Hanyun, a domestic expert in hematological diseases. He previously served as the deputy director of the Department of Hematology at Peking University People's Hospital and the director of the Department of Hematology at Peking University First Hospital. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological malignancies and complex hematological system diseases. He is a domestic expert in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and has been engaged in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for over 30 years, having presided over nearly 2,000 cases of various types of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, with a transplantation success rate in the advanced domestic ranks. Due to his outstanding contributions in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological system diseases and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, he was awarded the first Chinese Physician Award in 2005. He has successively undertaken more than 10 national and provincial/ministerial-level research projects and published over 100 academic papers.
