The Department of Gastroenterology at Peking University International Hospital is a key discipline of the hospital. It currently has 2 chief physicians, 4 associate chief physicians, and 2 master's supervisors, achieving comprehensive development in clinical practice, teaching, and research. It serves as a master's degree training site for Peking University Health Science Center and a standardized specialty training base for physicians under Peking University Health Science Center. It has been recognized as a member unit of the National Early Gastrointestinal Cancer Collaborative Network, a Capital Characteristic Digestive Endoscopy Training Base, and a lead unit of the Changping District Medical Alliance. The Department of Gastroenterology includes inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and an endoscopy center. It has established strategic cooperative relationships with the Department of Gastroenterology at internationally first-class hospitals such as the Optical Medical Center of Jichi Medical University Hospital in Japan, continuously deepening exchanges and cooperation in medical technology, talent training, scientific research, and teaching. The department has a well-structured team and has gradually formed a highly professional group. It undertakes clinical and endoscopic teaching tasks for intern physicians and trainee physicians from Peking University Health Science Center. Inpatient management in the Department of Gastroenterology implements an attending physician responsibility system and primary nursing responsibility system, providing rigorous and high-quality diagnosis and treatment. The outpatient clinics offer special needs clinics, expert clinics, specialty clinics, and MDT clinics for complex diseases, meeting the diagnostic and treatment needs of common diseases and complex severe conditions. The Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center is equipped with gastrointestinal endoscopy examination and treatment rooms, an ERCP fluoroscopy procedure room, a gastrointestinal motility room, and a capsule endoscopy room, comprehensively carrying out endoscopic diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.
