The Oncology Department consolidates the hospital's specialized superior resources, striving to become a leading tumor prevention and treatment center in China. In 2013, it was rated as a National Key Clinical Specialty and a Guangdong Provincial Key Clinical Specialty. It serves as the Vice Chairman Unit of the China Lung Cancer Prevention and Treatment Alliance, the Vice Chairman Unit of the Precision Medicine and Molecular Diagnostics Committee of the Guangdong Medical Association, and a Standing Committee Member Unit of the Guangdong Medical Doctor Association's Oncology Branch. Currently, the department has over 500 staff members, including clinical physicians, nursing personnel, engineers, physicists, and technicians. It boasts 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 3 experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council, over a dozen national and provincial outstanding experts with significant contributions recognized by the State Council, 1 national-level training candidate, and 2 provincial-level "Thousand-Hundred-Ten" training candidates.
